5 favourites – October

First of all: Happy Halloween to everyone who celebrates that (I personally don’t due to the fact that it’s not that big of a thing in Denmark). It’s time to say goodbye to October and hello to November. I’ve been quite busy the past few weeks, and I’m sure I’ll continue to be busy the next couple of months, but I’ll still try to blog every day, because I need a break from studying every now and again. This month I’ve once again discovered (or rediscovered) some items that I’ve come to love, and here’s 5 of them.

Sorte støvletter m. plateau - B&CO

Black platform boots by B&CO: These boots are one of my all-time favourite pairs of shoes. I wore them A LOT last autumn and winter, and so far I’m doing the same this year. They’re so comfortable and go with so many different looks. Love them!

L’oréal Skin Perfection Awakening Eye Cream: I know I just mentioned the L’oréal Skin Perfection products yesterday, but I really like them, and so far I’m especially impressed by the eye cream. When I’m busy I get really tired, and as I mentioned yesterday I truly think this eye cream makes me look more awake.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter (colour: 040 Red Velvet): I bought this Revlon Lip Butter shortly before I left England, but I didn’t start wearing it until this month, because I find it to be a more autumn/winter appropriate colour. I was pleasantly suprised when I first tried it on, because it’s even more gorgeous than I expected it to be. I haven’t posted any pictures of me wearing it yet (I know I’m really behind with outfit/make-up posts), but I’ll do so in the nearest future.

Make-up sponge: I purchased this make-up sponge last week, and I can’t believe I haven’t used a sponge to apply my foundation (and concealer) before, because it’s amazing. It blends out your foundation so well and makes it look really natural. This is just a cheap make-up sponge, and it’s probably not very good compared to the Beautyblender, but I like it.

Air Guitar – McBusted: YES! McBusted’s debut album is coming out on December 1, but their first single came out earlier this month and I love it! The sound of the song is exactly how I would have imagined an original McBusted sound to be like. I have to say though that I’ve been waiting years now for the next McFly album to be released, but even though it looks like that’s not going to happen for a while, I’m still very exited about the McBusted album.

Skin perfection

Last week I bought three products from the L’oréal Skin Perfection skin care line + a L’oréal Pure Micellaer Cleansing Water. I’ve barely used the cleasing water, so I haven’t made up my mind about it yet, but so far I really like the three Skin Perfection products. The jar on the left is the Unifying Day Moisturiser. I’ve have used it almost every day since I bought it, and it feels great on the skin. The box it comes in says: Evens skin tone, silky smooth touch, 24H hydration. I actually think my skin feels softer and more smooth after I started using it. The bigger tube is the Anti-Tiredness Beautifiyng Daily Care. The box it comes in says: Instantly corrects skin tone and refines skin texture and pores, 24H moisture kick. The product is white, but adjusts to your skin tone when you rub it out. It has a thicker texture than the Unifying Day Moisturiser, and you can easily use it as a primer before you put on your foundation. The little tube is the Awakening Eye Cream. The box it comes in says: Helps to conceal dark circles and reduce eye bags, moisturises and awakens. This is a tinted product and a little goes a long way. I’ve been using this eye cream every day since I bought it, and I love it. I think it does make me look more awake. So to sum up, I really like these products so far, and I’m looking forward to see what my skin looks and feels like after two more weeks, a month etc. Oh, and one last thing: How pretty is the packaging!

Dark nude

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m wearing my Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate matte lipstick. I’ve been wearing it a couple of times now, and I really like it. It was actually not until after trying it on that I thought about how it reminded me of that Kylie Jenner-ish dark nude that’s so popular these days. Even though I’m more into bright and colourful lip colours, I get why so many girls like ‘the Kylie Jenner lip’:)

Feeling feminine and comfortable

Here’s what I wore Wednesday September 24. I love wearing skirts and dresses in a casual way. In that way I feel feminine and comfortable at the same time. And let me just mention one more time how much I love these shoes. They were one of my favourite items in September and have continued to be so in October.

Three mascaras

DSC_4408

I’ve done some shopping this week, and I’ll break the stuff I bought down into several posts starting with mascaras. I’m usually not very experimental when it comes to mascara; when I find a mascara I really like I usually stick to that one. My favourite as I’ve mentioned before is Maybelline’s The Falsies Volum’ Express, but because the drugstore had a 2 for 1 deal on Maybelline mascaras I decided to buy two different ones instead of two The Falsies. As you can see I did buy one The Falsies (because it really is an amazing mascara), but for my second one I chose The Rocket Volum’ Express, because I’ve only heard good things about it. I haven’t used it yet, because I only have one or two mascaras open at a time, but I’ll give you my thoughts on it once I’ve tried it. As you can see I bought a third mascara as well. There was a 3 for 2 deal on all Rimmel make-up, so I bought two lip products (obviously) and the Scandaleyes mascara by Kate (Moss) in the colour 006 Eye Rock Amethyst which is an aubergine/plum like colour. I haven’t worn it yet either, but I’m really looking forward to see what looks I can come up with using it.
